My dear friends, Pope Francis has decreed that the 33rd Sunday of every year should be dedicated to the poor. The first World Day of the Poor falls on November 19 this year. I join the Holy Father in urging all of us to celebrate that day in a meaningful way: It is a day to rediscover our call to be a church of the poor, for the poor. In his letter to the whole Christians he addressed to them with these words: This new World Day, therefore, should become a powerful appeal to our consciences as believers, allowing us to grow in the conviction that sharing with the poor enables us to understand the deepest truth of the Gospel. The poor are not a problem: they are a resource from which to draw as we strive to accept and practice in our lives the essence of the Gospel. I invite the whole Church, and men and women of good will everywhere, to turn their gaze on this day to all those who stretch out their hands and plead for our help and solidarity. They are our brothers and sisters, created and loved by the one Heavenly Father. This Day is meant, above all, to encourage believers to react against a culture of discard and waste, and to embrace the culture of encounter.

CONFIRMATION PROGRAM STARTS TO RUN.
Published November 02, 2017 / by St. Lawrence HamiltonWith our visit to the grades 7 and 8 of Saint Lawrence School, we have begun the preparation of Confirmation program at Saint Lawrence Parish. The Confirmation sessions will be offered every weekend, on Sundays at 9:15 AM, beginning November 19. Registration forms were distributed during the visit to the students of grades 7 and 8, but are also available in the parish office, If your child does not attend classes at St Lawrence School but it would like to be confirmed, please call the office and let us know about it.
There will be a Parents and Sponsors information session, Sunday, November 12, following the 10:30 AM Mass.
EL SHADDAI’S MASS ANIVERSARY

He is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8) In Hebrew, El Shaddai means “The God who is more than enough.” The Most Sufficient ONe.” The Breasted One.” Jerusalem Bible translated El Shaddai as the “Almighty God” (Genesis 17:1;35:11).
Let’s thank God for the Gift of El Shaddai Group in our Saint Lawrence Parish Community. On Saturday 28 they were celebrating 9 years of live and work for the salvation of God’s people in our midst. ALL SOULS’ DAY MASS THURSDAY 2

On Thursday, November 2nd at 12:00 pm, we will be celebrating an All Souls Day Mass in our Parish for all our deceased members. In this mass, we will mention the name of your Beloved. Please bring the names of your deceased members to the secretary’s office or give it to Patrick Sullivan.
Please come and join us in praying for those who have passed away from our parish in the past year and before. There is no cost for this mass.
