Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass

Published / by St. Lawrence Hamilton

This is an annual Mass for couples celebrating their 25th, 40th, 50th, 60th or 60th plus Wedding Anniversary!

Mass includes a renewal of marriage vows by all participating anniversary couples. Registration forms are attached to a poster sent to Churches several months before the Anniversary Mass; fill in the form and return to the Family Ministry Office. Couples will be able to register online. A formal invitation (including general information and directions) is mailed to the home of the anniversary couple once registration has been received.

Each couple will receive a program listing the names of all participants and a small corsage to celebrate the day. Light refreshments follow the Mass, as well as an opportunity to take a picture with Bishop Crosby, so bring your camera!

Large numbers of couples register for the Mass, so only those couples married 60 or more years may bring a guest as there will be no remaining seats to accommodate guests.

“Is This Spot Taken? The Church’s Call to Radical Hospitality in a Post-Pandemic Church”

Published / by St. Lawrence Hamilton

As a part of our ongoing work in Forward Together in Christ, the Office for Evangelization and Catechesis is happy to welcome Mr. David Wells to the Diocese for a presentation at the Cathedral Basilica of Christ the King on Tuesday, November 08, 2022 at 7pm. David is a tremendous educator, catechist and disciple who speaks with great love for our Holy Church. The topic for our gathering will be, “Is This Seat Taken? The Church’s Call to Radical Hospitality in a Post-Pandemic Church”. David will be sharing from the heart about the importance of hospitality in our communities of faith, and how essential this ministry is as we rebuild our communities after COVID. All are very welcome and encouraged to join us for this important presentation.

Giving Tuesday

Published / by St. Lawrence Hamilton

Greetings! Normally by this time of year we would have already had our Nibbles and Bids and we’d be looking forward to the Turkey roll on the weekend. These two fundraisers, and a few others in our hall along with the weekly contributions from parishioners help to keep St. Lawrence thriving each year. But with health restrictions, we haven’t been able to run events in our hall and it’s left us missing everyone that we usually see at all those events and unfortunately with a pretty big fundraising hole. So we would invite you, if you are able, to consider supporting the church through an online donation to St. Lawrence Parish today on Giving Tuesday. You can make a donation by clicking the button below which will take you to our donation page (through Canada Helps, our online donations partner) Make a #GivingTuesday donation of $20 or more on Giving Tuesday and we’ll get an extra $2 from CanadaHelps!

Funds go to the various ministries in our parish and maintaining the church which has been a part of our community since 1890. We thank you for your generosity!

50/50 draw

You can also support the parish by purchasing tickets for our Christmas 50/50 draw (licence no. M846931) – Tickets are $5 or 3 for $10. To purchase tickets, call or email the parish office (we do curbside pickup ! ) or talk to Joe, Alissa, Andy, Helen, Maureen, Jean or Keith 😉

Draw to be held at St. Lawrence on December 20th at 12:30 p.m.

And until we can do it again….here’s a reminder of some of the fun we’ll have next year when we can gather again!!!

Nibbles & Bids 2019 a huge success!

Published / by St. Lawrence Hamilton

Once again, the St. Lawrence Fundraising Commitee led by Alissa Robinson has run a very successful Nibbles and Bids Loonie and Toonie auction. There are still some donations to come in, but the event has raised over $12,000 for the Parish.

If you couldn’t make it this year (or have never been), it is one crazy fun auction event. Prize lots ranged from Spa days with all the extras to wine tastings; a huge box of steaks to an inflatable raft full of beverages…and so much more.

A huge thank you goes out to all our sponsors, advertisers and donors! We couldn’t do it without you.

Our altar servers did an outstanding job of helping out on the auction floor (Thank you Daphne, Max, Olivia, and Cameron!!!) and members of the CWL and volunteers from the Parish kept our guests well fed and having a great time. Thank you volunteers!

The winner of the $793.55 50-50 draw prize was Rita Cesarini !
